2025 Fundraising Event: Bites and Brews with The Hometown Band
Thanks to everyone who came out for delicious “bites” and refreshing “brews” with the homegrown sounds of La Plata’s Hometown Band! The 2025 fundraising event was a fun way to raise money to support the Nuns and the Carmel Monastery of Port Tobacco.
Historical Restoration of the Old Monastery
During the fall of 2022, restorative work was undertaken to beautify and preserve the original, historic monastery. Under the strict tutelage and supervision of Bill Hoxie, Carmel of Port Tobacco’s dedicated master carpenter and groundskeeper, volunteers were set to work.
