MONASTIC MINI-RETREAT
The
Restorers of Mount Carmel are sponsoring a mini-retreat on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Mt. Carmel, 5678 Mt. Carmel Road, La Plata, MD. The retreat will begin with mass at 8:00 AM and will end by 3:00 PM. Cost is $30 per person and includes mass, several talks, quiet time, confessions, rosary, benediction/exposition, continental breakfast snacks, beverages, boxed lunch and lost of hand outs.
Father Raymond Kemp will be the retreat master and the theme will be Call to Conversion, and talks will center on the Woman at the Well, Giving Sight to the Man Born Blind, and the Raising of Lazarus Gospel Readings.

NIGHT AT THE RACES & ITALIAN DINNER
The
Restorers’ annual Italian Dinner and Horse Race fund raiser will be on
Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church in the Friendship Room,
La Plata, Maryland. Dinner is from 6 to 7:30 PM and includes an Italian
buffet with taste-tempting entrees, Caesar salad, garlic bread,
one-of-a-kind desserts, coffee, tea, and ‘racing’ snacks. A cash bar
will be available with beer, wine, and softer drinks.
Horse
races begin promptly at 7 PM and last about three hours. We have two of
the most knowledgeable ‘bookies’ on hand to make sure you have a
profitable night. Admission, which includes dinner and the races, is
$20. Space is limited, so register early!
There are three ways you can play the horses and walk away a winner:

Enter your own ‘horse’ ($20 registration fee per horse) in any or all
of the ten races. There will be 12 horses per race. You can name your
horse, select the race and post position (depending on availability at
the time you register). (You are encouraged to jockey your own horse
when possible!)The winning owner takes home $100!

this is a gambling event and alcohol is being served, it will be an
ADULTS ONLY night. We ask that any minors over age 16 be presented upon
entry. We strictly adhere to local laws.
